    <title>Upcoming Daily Mass Changes</title>
    <link>https://stfxb.org/Resources/News/articleType/ArticleView/articleId/995/Upcoming-Daily-Mass-Changes</link>
    <description>Dear Parish Family,

&amp;nbsp;

We are blessed as a parish to have the opportunity to celebrate daily Mass throughout the year. This is something not every parish is able to offer consistently, and it is a gift we do not take for granted.

&amp;nbsp;

That said, we have prayerfully considered two important updates regarding our weekday Mass schedule. On occasion, there may be days when I am not able to celebrate Mass. This typically happens when I am away due to commitments such as funerals, diocesan responsibilities, offsite parishioner and youth events, or time off for rest and renewal.

&amp;nbsp;

In the past, we were often able to arrange for visiting or retired priests to assist with coverage. However, this continues to become more challenging with less retired priests available and with the closing of the King&amp;rsquo;s House.

&amp;nbsp;

We will still be offering daily Mass the majority of the time - well over 250 days annually. For those days where Mass cannot be offered at our parish, we encourage those wishing to attend to join one of the many parishes surrounding us.&amp;nbsp;

&amp;nbsp;

Our weekend Mass schedule will remain unchanged and we will always ensure that there is a priest covering those Masses and weekend confessions in my absence.

&amp;nbsp;

While this will be an adjustment, we recognize that Daily Mass is a beautiful privilege, not an obligation, and we remain deeply thankful for the many opportunities we have to gather together in prayer and Eucharist.

&amp;nbsp;

The second update is regarding the celebration of Holy Mass on Thursdays.&amp;nbsp; Beginning in July we will be making a shift of Mass to 9:30am.&amp;nbsp; This time change is to allow Mass to be celebrated with our parishioners who are residents at Health Care Facilities here in Buffalo.&amp;nbsp; This 9:30am Mass will rotate locations throughout the month among the various facilities and the church (Lake Ridge, Havenwood, Park View &amp;amp; Park Terrace).

&amp;nbsp;

One of the Corporal Works of Mercy is to visit the sick and the homebound.&amp;nbsp; I encourage parishioners who are able to attend Mass at this different time to join us in prayer with these often-forgotten parishioners.&amp;nbsp; It is always a joy to brighten another&amp;rsquo;s day with the gift of presence.

&amp;nbsp;

Thank you for your understanding, your flexibility, and your continued support of our parish community.

&amp;nbsp;

Sincerely,

Father Barnes

&amp;nbsp;

---- Previous Communication About Changes ----

Starting July 2026 -- Thursday Daily Mass at 9:30am (Various Locations)

Beginning in July, we will be making a shift of Thursday morning Mass to 9:30am.&amp;nbsp; This time change is to allow Mass to be celebrated with our parishioners who are&amp;nbsp;residents at Health Care Facilities here in Buffalo.&amp;nbsp; This 9:30am Mass will rotate locations throughout the month among the various facilities and the church (Lake Ridge, Havenwood, Park View &amp;amp; Park Terrace).

&amp;nbsp;

&amp;nbsp;

Please see future bulletins for the location schedule.

&amp;nbsp;

A Brief Note about Weekly Daily Mass:

We are grateful to be able to offer daily Mass throughout most of the year. However, there are occasional weekdays when daily Mass is not available due to Father&amp;rsquo;s other commitments, such as funerals, diocesan responsibilities, youth events, or time away for rest and renewal.&amp;nbsp;

&amp;nbsp;

In the past, visiting or retired priests were sometimes available to help provide coverage, but that support has become more limited.

&amp;nbsp;

Please know that daily Mass will still be offered the vast majority of the year, and our weekend Mass schedule remains unchanged. Thank you for your understanding and continued support of our parish.
