The Holy Eucharist is, in the words of Vatican II, “the fount and apex of the whole Christian life.” Based on the words of Our Lord in John 6, Catholics believe the Eucharist to be the very Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ. For this reason, the Eucharist is the most important and precious part of our life.

The Catholic Church offers us many ways to encounter Jesus Christ present in the Eucharist. Most importantly is to attend and fully participate in the Holy Mass, but we also can worship Christ in Eucharistic Adoration. We are blessed to have perpetual adoration at St. Francis Xavier held in the Christ the King Adoration Chapel located at the Education Center.

The reason why Christ has given us this great gift is to enter into a deep communion with Him. Children usually make their First Communion in second grade by enrolling in our Faith Formation Program or attending the parish school. For those who are older, both adults and children, other programs are available to help prepare them to receive the Holy Eucharist. Please contact either the Director of Faith Formation, Debbie Gladitsch, or the Pastor for more information.

“Jesus said, ‘Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.'” -Matthew 28:19
